About Us

I am the Managing Director of Hazardous Solutions Group Limited, (HSGL) Richard Shotton. Together with my family we moved from Northumberland England to Waikato New Zealand in 2015, here I saw a need for a different level of health and safety and training.

As a professional with over 30 years experience, my skills include health and safety training and consultancy. I have also worked in the transport, waste and resource industry.

I’m a dedicated manager and trainer with strong communication skills, combined with commercial acumen. I am committed to growing a business underpinned by exceptional health and safety ethics.

I am a family man committed to delivering high quality consultancy training and consultancy to large or small organisations. My focus is on high risk training and development.

I have an excellent working knowledge of:

All aspects of legislation within the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, HSNO Act 1996 and regulations under these Acts.
Auditing from basic to ISO and British 5-star award.
Asbestos assessing, including implementation of asbestos management plans, asbestos removal control plans.
Health and safety practices, including identifying hazardous substances and asbestos.
